At ClipStrix, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.
1. Who We Are
ClipStrix ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered video automation platform available at clipstrix.com. For privacy inquiries, contact us at privacy@clipstrix.com.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: Name, email address, and password (hashed) when you register. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture.
Billing information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your full card number — only metadata such as plan, billing interval, and payment status.
Content you provide: Series topics, niche preferences, custom instructions, and any files you upload.
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, video generation requests, and error logs. This helps us improve the product.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and cookies (see Section 8).
Connected accounts: When you connect a social media account (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), we store the OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to publish content on your behalf. We request only the minimum permissions required.
Instagram data: When you connect an Instagram Business or Creator account, we access and store: your Instagram user ID, username, display name and profile picture (to identify the account in the app); aggregated insights for your account and your posts (views, reach, likes, comments, shares, saves, follower and media counts) to power the analytics dashboard; and a long-lived access token used to publish Reels on your behalf. We do not access your direct messages, your followers' personal data, or any content you have not published.
YouTube API data: When you connect a YouTube channel via Google OAuth, we access and store: your channel name, channel ID, and profile picture (to display in the app); and an upload credential (OAuth token) to publish videos to your channel on your behalf. We do not access your YouTube watch history, subscriptions, comments, or any other YouTube data beyond what is listed here.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the ClipStrix service

- To send product updates and marketing emails (opt out anytime)
- To detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- To comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following cases:
- Service providers: Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), OpenRouter / OpenAI (scripts), ElevenLabs (voiceover), Fal.ai (images), Vercel (hosting). Each has their own privacy policy.
- Meta / Instagram: When you connect an Instagram account we exchange data with Meta's Instagram Platform to authenticate you, read your insights and publish Reels on your behalf.
- Social platforms: When you publish a video, we send the file and metadata to the selected platform using your access token.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of ClipStrix or others.
- Business transfers: If ClipStrix is acquired or merges, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 90 days. Generated video files are stored for 30 days after creation and then deleted from our servers (published videos remain on the social platform).
Billing records and transaction logs are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data (right to be forgotten).
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for marketing.
- Restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@clipstrix.com. We will respond within 30 days. For step-by-step deletion instructions, see our Data Deletion page.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, row-level security in our database, and strict access controls. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact us immediately.
8. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential: Required for authentication and session management. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics: Help us understand how users interact with the platform. You can opt out.
- Preferences: Store settings like language and theme.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in.
9. Children's Privacy
ClipStrix is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.
10. International Data Transfers
ClipStrix is based in the United States. If you access our service from the European Union or other regions with data protection laws, your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We implement appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. To submit a request, email privacy@clipstrix.com.
12. Google API Services and YouTube
ClipStrix uses YouTube API Services to allow users to publish videos to their YouTube channels. Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically, data received from Google APIs is used solely to provide and improve the ClipStrix service as described in this policy. We do not use Google user data to serve advertising, sell to third parties, or for any purpose not disclosed to the user at the time of data collection.
Your use of YouTube features within ClipStrix is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.
You can review and revoke ClipStrix's access to your Google account at any time by visiting your Google Account Permissions page. Revoking access will disconnect your YouTube channel from ClipStrix and stop any future auto-publishing.
13. Meta Platform and Instagram
ClipStrix uses the Instagram API with Instagram Login to let you publish Reels to your own Instagram Business or Creator account and to show your account's performance in our analytics dashboard. Our use of data received from Meta's Instagram Platform complies with the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
We request only these permissions, and use them solely for the purposes stated:
- instagram_business_basic — to identify your account (user ID, username, name, profile picture) and list the media you have published, so you can pick the account to publish to and see your posts in the dashboard.
- instagram_business_manage_insights — to read aggregated metrics for your account and posts (views, reach, likes, comments, shares, saves, followers) and display them in your analytics dashboard.
- instagram_business_content_publish — to upload and publish the videos you create in ClipStrix to your own Instagram account, at the times you schedule.
We do not use Instagram data for advertising, do not sell or transfer it to third parties, and do not combine it with data from other sources for profiling. Access tokens are stored encrypted at rest and are used only to fulfil the actions above.
You can disconnect your Instagram account at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Connected accounts, or by removing ClipStrix from Instagram → Settings and activity → Apps and websites. Either action revokes our access and deletes the token and the Instagram data we hold for that account. See our Data Deletion page for full instructions and to check the status of a deletion request.
Your use of Instagram features within ClipStrix is also subject to the Instagram Terms of Use and Meta's Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
